FOSTER TOWER

CDC participated in the creation of the so-called Foster Tower. This support structure, designed by architect Norman Foster, won the international competition “Environmental Supports” organized by TERNA SpA in 1999. The supports were installed on the 380 kV “Santa Barbara-Tavarnuzze-Casellina” line in Tuscany, which became operational in 2007.

The innovative and unique shape of the support structure posed a significant challenge for all the professionals involved: the designers from Project Srl, the draftsmen from CDC Srl, and the builders from Colombo SpA.
